Описание: Заглавие книги может ввести в заблуждение: на самом деле речь идет отнюдь не о разводе. Автор намекает на книгу английского художника и поэта Уильяма Блейка «Бракосочетание Неба и Ада» (1793). В ней утверждается, что Добро и Зло только две стороны единого мира, что они необходимы друг другу, что они питаются друг от друга. В форме притчи-видения Льюис полемизирует с этой точкой зрения. Он изображает Ад в виде большого города, откуда время от времени едет автобус, чтобы отвезти обитателей Преисподней в Рай. Эта «экскурсия» показывает, как нелегко преодолеть «адское» состояние духа, показывает, что брак Добра и Зла невозможен.
